The Management Team

The management team have a wealth of scientific and commercial experience, and have led the company to its current expanding position within the environmental market.

Kirk Bridgewood MSc BSc (Hons) MIEnvSc. General Manager

Kirk is responsible for the overall operations, leaderships and direction of DETS. As an environmental sector professional, he has previous experience working in both the public and private sector in delivering business support to industry. Key areas of expertise include resource management, environmental compliance, environmental monitoring and environmental technologies. 

Tom Thompson, BSc (Hons), UK Laboratory Systems Manager

With over 30 years of experience gained within the laboratory, sales, training and IT services sectors.  Tom has vast knowledge and understanding of IT, infrastructure and laboratory systems and heads up the UK laboratory IT team. 

Hazel Davidson BSc, Technical Marketing Manager

With over 30 years’ experience, and joining DETS from ALcontrol, Hazel is a well known chemist within the industry, and frequent speaker at conferences and seminars.  Hazel is chair of the EIC Laboratories Working Group, and sits on several committees.

Neil Dobinson BSc, Laboratory Manager

Neil has worked for over 20 years in the laboratory industry working for companies such as ICI, Northumbrian Water Scientific Services & Lintec Testing Services, as well as working in New Zealand and has gained wide ranging experience in all aspects of laboratory management. 

John Coffer MChem, Quality & Technical Manager

John has over 10 years’ experience in the environmental testing industry and has progressed to Quality & Technical Manager during his time at DETS. He is responsible for all day to day Quality & Technical issues encountered in the laboratory, including implementation of company Quality Policy; Method Development and Validation; Audits; Non-conforming Work; Document Control; and all aspects of Proficiency Testing.

Adam Fenwick, Contracts Manager

Adam is responsible for laboratory customer services at DETS. He has over 20 years’ experience working in environmental laboratories covering contaminated land waste waters and fuels analysis. 

Nigel Halton Dip.RSA, Health, Safety & Environmental Manager

Nigel Halton has a varied career background and joined DETS as Health & Safety Co-ordinator in 2004. He has progressed to Health, Safety & Environmental Manager during his time with DETS and takes care of the day to day safety issues encountered within the laboratory including carrying out Risk and COSHH Assessments, safety training and implementation of the company health and safety policy.
